Kansas City, MO::When you really get down and analyze this thing called life, it comes down to one question....why the middle finger?

First off we have to take step back and think about who came up with this complex nature of communication. Someone who was so angry, so moved by aggression, that the only thing that quenched their passion of hatred was....the middle finger.

Of course the translation, like any, has been lost over time. For instance there is the person who doesn't know whether the verbal stance is "flipping off" or "flicking off." Then you have the people who stick their thumbs out versus thumbs in.

Which ever way you choose to look at the middle finger, doesn't really matter. As you can see it is becoming the new hot move of the summer (being compared to both the West Coast middle finger "W" performed during the mid to late 90's and the rat-tail craze of the late 80's ).

Its staying power, like Brittney Spear's career, will just have to stand the test of time yet again.
