I have a serious problem with anyone who thinks that The Sopranos had an appropriate ending. The finale of The Sopranos was about as good as the Alpha Beta's cheerleading skit in Revenge Of The Nerds....they had the talent, but just went through the motions. Clap yo hands everybody...now everybody clap your hands!
Here's the deal, don't position yourself, the first 18 seasons you are on the air, as a hardcore mafia show and then think by attempting to morph into a deep-thinking mini-series, your fan base will be pleased. Come on, The Karate Kid never settled for second place, not even in Okinawa.
So now David Chase, the creator of The Sopranos, is again speaking his mind about being criticized for how he ended the series. It's simple buddy....badly. If you would have put Joe Pesci in the finale, everyone would have been happy.
Article on David Chase, one of the first producers in Hollywood that focused on making a quality piece on the mafia....cause The Godfather, The Godfather II, The Godfather III, Goodfellas, Scarface, Casino, Reservoir Dogs, The Untouchables, A Bronx Tale, Pulp Fiction, Heat, Carlito's Way....and so on, wasn't enough.
