Like many I was easily seduced back into the American Gladitor's pyramid scheme that is now showing on NBC. Gladiators stands for something simple and innocent to the people who used to watch during the 90's. When I was young, feats of strength pairing normal joe's against superior gladiators like Ice, Storm, Laser and Blazer, just had a great ring to it I guess...plus I wasn't allowed to stay up late enough for Roller Derby.
It seems obvious to me however, that NBC is rubbin doodie all over the new American Gladiators and taking it in a different direction. First off NBC, why do people watch this show? Probably not to hear Hulk Hogan conduct a symposium on nanotechnology and there isn't anything worse then listening to an out of breath competitor discuss their strategy after using a large Q-tip for jousting.
People want to see cool events and people getting their heads smashed in by the Gladiators, right? I mean why the hell else are you watching? I guess I am just a little upset since Roger Clemens got disqualified from the Celebrity American Gladiator competition after Wolfman was found injecting him with heartworm medicine.
